Hello

I signed up to be part of Herts Open Studios a couple of years ago and this year I will be taking part by showing new work and work in progress along with six other HVAF members in Broadway Chambers opposite the station. The exhibition will run from 18th September to 10th October.

I'll be showing some drawings that are part of a graphic memoir I'm currently working on, and will have a new edition of tiny books, some small recent paintings and some new cards for sale.

Some of us will be running workshops at the venue - mine will be a gentle couple of hours exploring drawing freshly picked flowers and foliage with different media and then creating a hand bound book from the pictures. Have a look here for more information and to book a place:

MK Gallery Family-in-Residence

Been very much enjoying working with the Collins Family during their residency at MK Gallery.  We've been exploring book making, animation and stories, themed around clothes.  This Sunday 14th October will the culmination of their residency and we're inviting people to come along to the Project Space from 2.30 - 4.30 to explore their own creativity.  Participants will be invited to create handmade books, contribute to a giant animation and colour illustrations for a big story.

Saturday 14th July: Create Together, St Albans Museum and Gallery

Create Together, St Albans

Enjoying working on a collaborative project with groups of visitors at St Alban's Museum and Gallery.  Inspired by a wonderful installation by Susie MacMurray we are creating elements for a large scale piece using velvets, silks, sticks, bark and herbs.
Here are some pics of our work in progress:

And here is a detail of some of Susie MacMurray's work at St Albans Museum and Gallery; this is made from silk velvet and wire:
